A rare and charming piece of sewing history, this Casige “Rapid Stitcher” sewing machine was produced in post-WWII Germany (British Zone) specifically for Macy’s Associates. Measuring approximately 7 1/2 inches tall (to the top of the spool pin) with a 9" x 4 1/2" base, this miniature machine is a sturdy and collectible relic of mid-20th-century craftsmanship.
The mechanism operates fine, but the machine shows typical wear consistent with age and use, including some areas of rust, which add to its vintage appeal and authenticity. With its compact size and one-of-a-kind lavender-and-silver design, this piece makes a delightful display item for collectors of sewing memorabilia or historical miniatures.
